Tea tree oil is the best treatment for killing and tackling mold on window sills unfortunately it is the most expensive option too. Place undiluted white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the sills and frames. Dip the brush in the bleach mixture often. Vinegar is a good option in cleaning black mould from these areas.

Open a window or door so the mold spores can escape instead of staying locked in your home. Wipe away the scraped mold and excess water with a clean rag. Scrub the window sill with your mold remover. Use a clean rag to then wipe away the mold you loosened.

Although mold flourishes in a moist environment the spores will enter into the air as you re removing them so if you dampen the sills you re essentially gluing the existing spores down. However it can penetrate into the roots of the mold and can kill and remove all traces of mold. Scrub the windowsill clean with the damp cloth. Make a mixture of one part bleach to three parts warm water.

This is just one property of tee tree oil and is something you should have on hand at all times. Keep an extra bucket of cleaning solution handy and use it to rinse your brush as you work. Often sashes are affected so start at the top and work down. Take some dish washing detergent and water this will become your cleaning solution.

Scrub the black mold off the windowsill with a nylon brush. You ll want to grab some paper towels and apply the solution to sills and if it s hard to remove grab a plastic scraper to help loosen it and then apply more of your cleaning solution. Add 1 cup borax to the water and mix thoroughly with a long handled spoon. While you are doing that empty your pail or get a new one and refill it with clean water.

Using a mixture of bleach and warm water scour moldy window frames and sills with a stiff nylon brush. Let the resulting scummy mix of mold and remover stand for a few minutes. Fill a bucket with 1 gallon warm water. Scrub the mold off of the windowsill using a non abrasive brush and frequently dip the brush in the bleach mixture.

Scrub the black spots and then spray generously again.
